In the engines with fuel injection technology or the diesel engines, fuel pressure sensors are responsible for monitoring the amount of pressure in the fuel rail and then to report the taken reading to the car’s engine control module. If the engine control module detects any pressure drop, it works to compensate so that the fuel pump in the system can revive the proper amount of pressure. The pressure is being controlled by a valve; if the sensor ever malfunctions, make sure to replace it.
Sometimes, the whole fuel rail might need replacement but the sensor is the weakest chink in the armor and is more prone to malfunction than any other component in the system. If the sensor works properly, only the needed amount of oil or fuel enough to run the engine properly is delivered. A minimum of excess fuel will be circulated back to the tank.
